I edited the original image and made it look like a vintage photo. I did this because the colour matches the red and black house style, and a vintage image will attract my target audience. The shadow covering half of Aggie Pop's face can connote darkness and will attract more people because it looks like there's a story behind her face. The left hand side is black, where the text will be.
I added a red bar on the top including the text "Features" to let the audience know which part of the magazine this is. It also borders the two sides of the magazine and ties it together and looks like a bridge and it makes it look nice. The colour red also matches the two colours on both sides.
Although I do not have an image, I added the text on the black background on the left hand side, but it did not look very good. I think it was not well balanced with the big gap on the right hand side of the image, and all the text on the left side. So I will change the two sides so the image is on the left, and the text on the right.
